DRIVER SKILLS PLUS

Having a passion for driving is where we all start. Perhaps you’ve been driving for decades, or maybe you only just got your first car. The goal of Driving Skills Plus isn’t to start you from square one, but to analyze where you are on your driving journey, and help you grow from there.

This course is for drivers who are looking to get the most out of their car and expand on their existing skills.

This is a 2 hour private lesson where you’ll learn:

  • Weight transfer, what is it and how to use it

  • Understeer vs Oversteer - and how to induce/control them

  • Power curves and when to shift (torque vs speed)

  • Advanced braking, traction and turning skills

  • Uphill versus downhill cornering techniques

  • How FWD cars perform vs RWD

  • Driving to the given road conditions

  • When and how to pass other vehicles


Your instructor will ask if there are specific areas you would like to focus on and the instruction will be tailored towards your needs.

Learn MANUAL TRANSMISSION

This course is for Class C licensed drivers who want to learn how to drive and enjoy a manual transmission vehicle. When you finish the course, you’ll be more skilled than most manual transmission drivers on the road. We’ll work on:

  • The relationship between the clutch, engine, and wheels

  • Getting the car moving

  • When to shift gears based on acceleration and speed

  • Downshifting to a stop

  • Starting the car on a hill (up and down)

  • When to engage the emergency brake while parking

  • Engine braking versus clutching to a stop

  • Block Shifting

  • Rev Matching

For this course our instructor meet you at your home or wherever your car is located within our service area

Cost $ 195 for 90 minutes – private lesson

  • Your car! The goal is to get you confortable with your own vehicle. Every car is different, so by using the car you are driving we can tailor instruction to you and your vehicle

  • Yes! You are welcome to book and come back as many times as you like. We aim to give you a lot to digest in your first session that will take time for you to practice and absorb, but we love to see familiar faces coming back.
