RIDER SKILLS PLUS

This course is for those who are comfortable on their motorcycles and are looking to get the most out of their riding experience. You will be expected to be proficient at the skills in our CONFIDENCE BUILDER course before enrolling in RIDER SKILLS PLUS

In RIDER SKILLS PLUS, you’ll learn advanced skill development for motorcycle riders. This is a 3 hour canyon-based group class (max 3 students per group) or 2 hour private lesson focusing on:

  • Finding your line

  • Advanced braking techniques

  • Becoming a more skilled rider at all speeds

  • Cornering safely at higher speeds

  • Handing uphill and downhill corners at speed

  • Overtaking other bikes and cars

  • Knowing when to shift (torque vs speed)

If taking a private lesson, your instructor will ask for areas you would like to focus on and the course can be tailored to your interests.

CONFIDENCE BUILDER

This course is aimed at newer riders with a class M license who want to become more confident riding on both city/country roads and on freeways. This is a 4 hour group course (max 3 students per group) or 2 hour private lesson that covers city, canyon and highway driving.

Starting in the morning with city and canyon riding, you’ll learn:

  • How to safely lane-split and approach traffic lights

  • Lane positioning, where you should position your bike and when

  • Body positioning - how to use your body to control the bike safely

  • Downshifting properly to a traffic stop

  • How to stop safely in various emergency situations, how and when to use your feet

  • Riding to various weather and road conditions

  • How to ride in canyons with hills and turns (and how to handle uphill and downhill curves)

  • Proper attire for various riding conditions

  • Common courtesy with other motorcycle riders

We then continue in early afternoon with the highway session where you’ll learn:

  • Lane splitting on the highway – when to do it and how

  • Lane positioning on the highway

  • Handling road hazards at speed with few maneuverability options

  • Driving near large trucks

  • Which lane to ride in at various times

  • Foot and grip positioning at higher speeds

For group lessons, we’ll do city/canyons in the morning, break for lunch and then continue with highway riding early afternoon. For private lessons, we’ll do both sections in a 2 hour period.  Group lessons available for $ 195 each, private lessons are $ 295.


  • Yes. You will already need to have your M1 motorcycle license or endorsement in order to complete any of our motorcycle riding courses.

  • Whatever bike you own will be perfect. We want to increase your confidence and abilities on your own machine, so bringing your own bike is ideal. We will ask what bike you ride when you are booking.
